Justice with Health is a nonprofit organization that creates and implements innovative community health and social justice projects. Our projects assist healthcare providers and organizations to address the social determinants of health, empower our patients and community members to make healthy life choices, and mobilize healthcare providers and our patients to address health disparities. The organization was founded in 2020 by Dr. Joshua Lawrence Patel Deutsch, a family physician at Mee Memorial Hospital in King City, CA. Our projects focus on farmworker families in the Salinas Valley and other demographically similar communities. We are in the process of forming a board of directors and becoming a 501c3 certified nonprofit.
Dr. Deutsch currently works as a family physician at Mee Memorial Hospital serving farmworker families in the Salinas Valley of California. He has a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley. Before becoming a doctor, he founded a landscape construction company called Backyard Food Gardens to install vegetable gardens in homes and schools. He previously managed international health projects in rural Central America focused on sanitation and nutrition. He lives in Salinas with his wife Seema and his two children Jayden and Ishaan. He is the author of 18 and counting published childrens' books that are part of the Clinic Book Program.
